Privacy, terms & policies
This single page is the canonical reference for the Food AI mobile application and related web experiences operated by Promptify SRL ("Promptify," "we," "us"). It brings together our privacy practices, terms of use (EULA), subscription rules, cookie and similar-technology disclosures, AI and health-related disclaimers, and how to reach us or exercise your rights.

Data controller / service provider: Promptify SRL, a company organized under the laws of Romania.
Registered / postal address: Romania (full registered office address available upon request for regulatory or law-enforcement inquiries).

Product: Food AI — AI-assisted nutrition, meal planning, and wellness features on iOS and Android (bundle identifiers and store listings may vary by platform).
Privacy policy
This policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal data when you use Food AI, visit our marketing websites, or otherwise interact with us in connection with the service.
Data categories we collect
- Account & identity: email address, user identifier, display name (if provided), authentication tokens, subscription status, and in-app preferences.
- Usage & diagnostics: app version, device type, OS version, coarse interaction events (e.g. feature usage), crash logs, performance metrics, and similar telemetry needed to operate and improve the product.
- Nutrition, health, and wellness-related content: goals you set (e.g. calorie targets), dietary preferences, food entries, barcode or label-derived information, weight or body metrics if you choose to log them, and related inferences produced by the app or AI features.
- Images & media: photos or images you upload for meal logging, barcode scanning, or similar features, plus derived metadata (e.g. detected foods).
- Chat & AI prompts: text you submit to conversational or generative features, including follow-up messages and optional context you provide.
- Payment & billing (subscriptions): transaction identifiers, product SKU, renewal state, and limited receipt data as provided by Apple, Google, or our payment processors — not your full payment card number (handled by the platform or processor).
- Communications: messages you send to support, including attachments you voluntarily include.
- Website & marketing: IP address, browser type, referring URLs, cookie identifiers, and campaign parameters when you visit our marketing site or landing pages.
Purposes of processing
- Provide, personalize, and secure the Food AI service.
- Process subscriptions, trials, renewals, cancellations, and refunds in line with platform rules.
- Operate AI features (e.g. meal suggestions, chat) and improve model prompts and safety.
- Communicate service updates, security notices, and (where permitted) marketing.
- Detect abuse, fraud, and violations of our terms.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Where applicable, we rely on one or more of the following:
- Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — processing necessary to deliver the app and features you request (e.g. account, core logging, paid entitlements).
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — where required for optional analytics, marketing communications, non-essential cookies, or specific sensitive categories when we ask explicitly.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — e.g. fraud prevention, product security, limited aggregation and analytics that do not override your rights, and internal reporting; you may object where applicable.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — where the law requires retention or disclosure.
Sharing & recipients
We do not sell your personal information in the traditional sense. We share data with service providers (processors) who help us run Food AI and our websites — for example cloud hosting, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, customer messaging, AI inference providers, and subscription management. A non-exhaustive list appears in the Subprocessors appendix. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger or asset transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.
International transfers
We may process data in the European Economic Area (EEA) and other countries where our providers operate. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to countries not deemed adequate, we use appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and supplementary measures where required.
Retention
We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution requirements. Account data is generally kept for the life of your account plus a limited grace period; telemetry and logs may be kept for shorter rolling periods; backup copies may persist for a technical window after deletion. Exact retention can vary by data category and legal context.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including encryption in transit where appropriate, access controls, and vendor review. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you use the service at your own risk within reasonable industry limits.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing (including profiling). You may withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. To exercise these rights, contact bogdan@promptify.ro. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (e.g. ANSPDCP in Romania).
Children
Food AI is not directed at children under the age where parental consent is required in your jurisdiction (typically 13 in the U.S. or 16 in the EEA for certain services). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. We will adjust the "Last updated" date (and document version when material). Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law; where consent or additional notice is required, we will obtain it.
AI features, models & subprocessors
Food AI uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to generate suggestions, parse inputs (including images and natural language), and automate parts of the user experience. Outputs are probabilistic and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect.
When you use AI features, we and our AI subprocessors may process prompts, contextual fields (such as goals or recent logs you attach to a request), and model outputs. Data may be temporarily stored or logged for abuse monitoring, debugging, and quality improvement in line with this policy and provider terms. We do not use your content to train third-party foundation models where those providers offer opt-out or contractual prohibitions; where configuration options exist in the product, we describe them in the app settings or release notes.
You are responsible for not submitting highly sensitive information (e.g. full medical records) unless you understand the risks. See also the health disclaimer under Terms — not medical advice.

By downloading, accessing, or using Food AI, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Acceptance & eligibility
You represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization.
Service description
Food AI provides software tools for nutrition logging, planning, and related wellness assistance. Features may change, be renamed, or discontinued. We may impose usage limits or fair-use rules to protect infrastructure and other users.
Acceptable use
- No unlawful, harassing, discriminatory, or harmful conduct.
- No attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or overload our systems beyond normal use.
- No circumvention of paywalls, licensing, or security controls.
- No uploading malware or content that infringes third-party rights.
User content & license
You retain rights to content you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, display, and create derivative outputs (e.g. AI summaries) solely to operate, improve, and secure the service and as described in our privacy policy.
Not medical advice
Food AI is a general wellness and nutrition aid. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or professional dietary advice tailored to clinical conditions. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making decisions that could affect your health, including changes to medication, diet for medical conditions, or exercise programs. You assume full responsibility for how you use information from the app.
Accounts
You must keep credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly of unauthorized use.
Third-party services & stores
If you obtain Food AI through the Apple App Store or Google Play, those platforms' terms may also apply to your use of their payment and distribution systems. In case of conflict regarding platform billing, the store provider's terms generally govern the payment relationship.
Intellectual property
The app, branding, and related materials are owned by Promptify or its licensors. You receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the software for personal, non-commercial purposes unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, risk to the service or others, or legal requirements. You may stop using the service at any time. Provisions that by nature should survive (e.g. disclaimers, liability limits) will survive termination.
Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Promptify and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve (12) months before the claim or (b) fifty euros (€50), except where liability cannot be limited by law (e.g. gross negligence or willful misconduct).
Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Romania have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence that cannot be waived.
Changes to these terms
We may modify these terms. We will post updates on this page and, where required, provide additional notice in the app or by email. Material changes may require renewed acceptance in the app.
Subscriptions & payments
Food AI may offer paid subscriptions, free trials, and promotional pricing. Pricing, tiers, and trial length are shown in the app and/or the applicable app store listing at checkout.
- Billing: For purchases through Apple or Google, billing is handled by the platform under your store account. For web or other channels we may offer, billing is handled by our payment processor.
- Trials: If you start a trial, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before conversion, as disclosed at signup.
- Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until you cancel through the platform where you purchased (e.g. App Store subscriptions settings, Google Play subscriptions).
- Cancellation: You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals; you typically retain access until the end of the current paid period.
- Refunds:Refund eligibility follows Apple's and Google's policies for in-app purchases. For web purchases, our processor's and local consumer laws apply. Contact store support or us at bogdan@promptify.ro for assistance locating the correct channel.
- Price changes: We may change prices with reasonable advance notice where required by law; continued use after renewal may constitute acceptance.

We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and within statutory deadlines where applicable (e.g. GDPR). We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.
Appendix: U.S. state privacy (CCPA / CPRA-style disclosures)
If you are a California or other U.S. state resident with applicable privacy rights, you may have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising ("sale" / "sharing" as defined locally). Food AI is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly sell personal information of minors under 16 without affirmative authorization. To exercise rights, email bogdan@promptify.ro with your request. You may designate an authorized agent where permitted; we may require proof of authorization. You will not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising rights.

Appendix: Open-source notices
Food AI may include open-source software subject to separate license terms. Where required, attribution and license texts are bundled in the application or linked from in-app settings ("Legal" or "Open source"). Nothing in this page restricts your rights under those third-party licenses.
